He thus succeeds Hans Schobel who, after more than 30 years in a range of management positions in the Polymer-Group (www.polymer-gruppe.de), has started his well-deserved retirement.

Herbiet, who received his doctorate from the Institute of Plastics Processing at the RWTH Aachen University, was most recently Managing Director at Hexpol AB where he was responsible for the plants in Eupen (Belgium) and Hückelhoven (Germany).

Polyblend GmbH (www.polyblend.de), a joint venture between Total Raffinage Chimie SA (www.total.com) and Polymer-Holding GmbH (www.polymer-gruppe.de), views itself as an interface between raw-materials manufacturers and the plastics processing industry.
